Aaron Lewis
Aaron Lewis

If it sounds like Aaron Lewis is long past defending his Country music pedigree, that would be a correct assessment. Lewis would prefer the music speak for itself and, with the release of SINNER, Lewis’ stunning Dot Records follow-up to his groundbreaking full-length solo debut The Road in 2012, any would-be detractors will be pretty much out of ammo.

Lewis, however, is not. SINNER blasts through today’s Country music doldrums like a shot of 100-proof whiskey, with the singer making zero compromises with either himself or the restrictions of a format that seems to have abandoned its rougher tendencies in favor of pop and ‘70s rock inclinations largely lacking in grit.

As the front man for one of modern rock’s most successful bands in Staind, Lewis admits his entre into the Country world has been met with a few mixed reactions, and a great deal of support.

Gavin DeGraw
Gavin DeGraw

Gavin DeGraw is a multi-platinum selling singer, performer and songwriter. He first broke through with the 2003 release of his debut album, Chariot, which sold over 1 million copies, earned platinum certification, and yielded three hit singles: “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through,” and the title-track, “Chariot.” Gavin’s self-titled second album debuted at No. 1 on the digital sales chart and at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart in 2008, earning Gavin his first Top 10 album. It spawned the hit singles “In Love With A Girl,” which Billboard dubbed “a rocking homerun,” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.” In 2009, Gavin released Free as a gift to his die-hard fans clamoring for recorded versions of Gavin’s live favorites. His third studio album, Sweeter, was released in September 2011 and produced the smash single, “Not Over You,” co-written with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder. The track reached #1 on the Hot AC charts, was a top 10 hit on Top 40, and was certified double platinum.

In 2013 DeGraw released his fourth studio album, Make A Move, which included the hit song “Best I Ever Had”,” and garnered rave reviews from such publications as Billboard, People and Entertainment Weekly amongst many others. In addition, Gavin was nominated for his first Grammy for “We Both Know,” the song he co-wrote with Colbie Calliat for the 2013 film, “Safe Haven.”  Since then he has been consistently touring around the world, including sold out dates with the legendary Billy Joel and hit a milestone with the release of his first greatest hits compilation titled Finest Hour in the fall of 2014.  Gavin’s fifth studio album, Something Worth Saving, released last September through his longtime label RCA Records, and featured the hit single “She Sets The City On Fire.”  DeGraw is currently on the road in the US on the Gavin DeGraw RAW TOUR, which will showcase songs from DeGraw’s entire catalogue performed as a trio for the very first time in the US and will be diving deep into his catalogue presenting his songs in their truest live form.  For more information visit www.gavindegraw.com-facebook.com/gavindegraw - twitter: @gavindegraw.

Stephen Stills and Judy Collins
Stephen Stills & Judy Collins

50 years ago, singer-songwriter Stephen Stills met singer-songwriter Judy Collins, known for her piercing ocean blue eyes. Their tumultuous love affair would later be immortalized by Stills with his composition “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash on their landmark debut. Both artists would go gone to shape modern music with visionary approaches, but Stills and Collins’ short fiery union remains a transformative era for the two artists.

This summer, the two icons of folk will celebrate the golden anniversary of their formative time together. Their joint summer tour marks the first time ever Stills and Collins have been onstage together. For this once in a lifetime experience, the two music legends will pull from their rich catalogs, debut songs from their upcoming album, due out Summer of 2017, and share warm and intimate stories from their journeys and the1960s folk and Laurel Canyon scenes they helped build.

Pink Martini
Pink Martini

Pink Martini's "little orchestra" draws inspiration from the romantic Hollywood musicals of the 1940s and '50s and crosses genres to make an eclectic, modern sound. Their arrangements of Latin music, jazz, cabaret and cinema scores come together in a sound that defies categorization but is guaranteed to get the audience up out of their seats and dancing in the aisles.

This concert will include popular favorites from the band’s 23 year career as well as songs from their latest release, Je dis oui!, taking the audience on a musical trip around the world from France to Iran, Armenia to South Africa and more.

Come join Pink Martini with lead singer China Forbes for a lively evening of song from our new album 'Je dis oui!' as well as old favorites from past albums, and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!

Tam-Tam Talent Show
Turlock Community Theatre TAM-TAM Talent Show:  A Live Talent Show Competition & Fundraiser

Come join us at the Turlock Community Theatre for a fun new fundraiser, the TAM-TAM Talent Show! We have lots of local, talented people performing at the show for your votes and for a chance at the grand prize of $1,999.18! Here is how it will work:

A panel of 3 judges will critique each performance.  If any judge finds the act to be unworthy of the grand prize, they may stand up and hit the tam-tam.  Once the tam-tam is struck, the performer(s) must stop their act immediately, as their time in the competition is over.  If a performer makes it through their entire performance without one of the judges hitting the tam-tam, each judge will then give the performance a score ranging from 1 (being low) to 10 (being high).  The scores from the judges will then be combined with votes received from the audience to determine the final score of each performance.  Audience voting will occur at the intermissions, where they will buy voting tickets ($5 each), which can be used for their favorite performances.

There will be Five Components to the TAM-TAM Talent Show Competition & Fundraiser:

ACT 1
During ACT 1, approximately nine performers will take to the stage to show off their talents, and hopefully not get a wham-bam on the Tam-Tam!  Each performance will then get a score from the judges.  Those scores will be combined with the audience voting, which will take place during INTERMISSION 1.

INTERMISSION 1
Audience members have a chance to show their support for their favorite performance from ACT 1 by purchasing tickets to vote.  Each ticket costs $5.00, and each ticket counts as one valid vote.  Once a voting ticket has been purchased, the audience member may place it into the voting box for their favorite performance. Audience members may vote as many times as they'd like.  Purchasing tickets to vote is a Win-Win:  Not only are audience members getting involved in the fun by voting for their favorite act, but all cash donations made from their generosity goes solely towards making sure our Turlock Community Theatre continues to stay open to the public and thrive in the years to come.

ACT 2
During ACT 2, approximately nine more performers will take to the stage to show off their talents, where they will be given a score by our panel of judges (providing no slam of the Tam-Tam).  These scores will once again be combined with audience voting.  All voting for ACT 2 performances will take place during INTERMISSION 2.

INTERMISSION 2
Audience members may vote during this intermission for their favorite performances in ACT 2.  Same voting rules apply as in the first intermission.  Audience members can once again purchase tickets for $5 each, and vote for their favorite performers as many times as they'd like.

AWARDING OF THE CASH PRIZE
A one-time cash prize of  $1,999.18 will be awarded to the Performer/Act who receives the highest score from the combined audience votes and score from the judges.  In the event of a tie score, the panel of judges will determine the winner.  The Cash Prize will be presented once all votes have officially been counted.  Why $1,999.18 as the cash prize, you ask?  Well, the Turlock Community Theatre officially opened its doors in the year 1999, and the 18 cents represents the first year for this event, 2018... Fitting, right?!

Here are some of the talented acts scheduled to perform for your votes!

Tim Flannery
Tim Flannery & The Lunatic Fringe

To say Tim Flannery is a baseball man is an understatement. And while he is beyond proud, and certainly humble, about being part of three World Series championship San Francisco Giants teams (2010, 2012, 2014), as well as his thirty plus years in the Major Leagues, Tim Flannery has always toured and played shows in support of his twelve records of original songs written through the years about the life of a road man.

Those who know “Flan,” as he’s come to be known, understand how much music has always meant to him. With over those thirty years traveling the country with baseball, one thing he always had with him was his guitar. And on a rainy night in St. Louis or after a day game in Cincinnati, you might have heard a man singing in the stairwells of the team hotel.

As a talented and prolific singer and songwriter, Flan’s music enjoys radio support across the planet, from the shores of Ireland to beach towns up and down the California coast. Routinely supported by his obscenely talented, all-star band, The Lunatic Fringe, Flan has also been joined onstage by the likes of Jackson Browne, Bruce Hornsby, Garth Brooks and Jimmy Buffett, and even Bob Weir and the boys. Tim has just been on a run of shows as a duo with the great Jerry Jeff Walker, in support of his new release " Last Of The Old Dogs". With a voice as smooth as Kentucky bourbon and heart worn on both sleeves, Flan’s concerts ebb and flow with brilliant melodies, soaring harmonies and themes of love, travel and connecting with the Great Spirit. And of course, stories and songs of love, compassion, and the game he loves. All his music funds his non-profit "The Love Harder Project," his mission to shine awareness and stop violence and bullying in schools.

“Weird Al” Yankovic burst onto the scene over three decades ago and never looked back.  For the first time in his storied career, the world’s foremost musical satirist and four-time Grammy-winner foregoes his usual high-octane, big-production show for an intimate evening of music, focusing on original (non-parody) songs from his 14-album catalog.  After his 2016 world tour, including venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City Music Hall, this is a rare opportunity to get up-close and personal with this legendary performer.

Weird Al’s most recent album Mandatory Fun was the first comedy album in history to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.  In 2018 he will be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
