As the frontman for the band bearing his name, Daughtry has become one of the most visible and consistent rock & roll torchbearers of the 21st Century. Since rising to prominence on the fifth season of American Idol, Daughtry have released four studio albums, scored four No. 1 hits and garnered 4 GRAMMY nominations. Additionally, the band has sold over 8 million albums and 16 million singles, as well as selling out concerts around the globe. The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West is stationed in the San Francisco Bay area at Travis Air Force Base, California. The only active duty Air Force band west of the Rockies, the Band of the Golden West is comprised of about 60 talented and versatile Airmen-musicians under the command of Captain Rafael F. Toro-Quiñones. In addition to performing for civilian communities throughout the states of California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, the band supports 13 Air Force Bases, 8 Air Force Reserve Wings, and 6 recruiting squadrons in over 250 annual performances for 1.5 million listeners.

The organization offers several outstanding performing groups: Concert Band, Ceremonial Marching Band, Commanders jazz ensemble, Mobility popular music ensemble, Travis Brass quintet, Golden West Winds woodwind quintet, and Galaxy popular music ensemble. Additionally, the Band of the Golden West provides solo vocalists for the performance of our National Anthem and solo buglers for Taps details.

The Band of the Golden West has performed for gubernatorial inaugurations, with guest artists such as Marvin Stamm, Arturo Sandoval and Bob Hope, and for the fans of Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and Infineon NASCAR races. In the last ten years the band has led off three Tournament of Roses parades in Pasadena, CA. In 2004, the USAF Band of the Golden West was honored to support the interment ceremony of President Ronald Reagan in Simi Valley, CA, an event, viewed by a global TV audience of over 400 million. More recent events include featured performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Pentatonix.

Felipe Esparza
Felipe Esparza

Felipe Esparza is a comedian and actor, best known for his raw, real-life comedy that audiences everywhere can relate to. With his signature wild hair, and his often-imitated phrase, “what’s up, fool?”, he has been associated with his friend Gabriel Iglesias, who often recounts (and imitates) his experiences with Felipe in his act. After 17 years of stand-up comedy, various television appearances and two movies, Felipe walked away with the title prize on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. In 2012, Felipe produced and released his first one-hour stand-up special, “They’re Not Gonna Laugh at You”, for Showtime. It is currently available on DVD and Netflix. In 2014, Felipe launched a podcast entitled, “What’s Up Fool?” podcast on the All Things Comedy network started by Bill Burr and Al Madrigal. In its first week, it entered the top 15 comedy podcasts and the top 70 podcasts in all categories. It quickly became a fan favorite with a strong, loyal following.

From 1968 thru 1986 Peter was the singer, songwriter, and bass player for the legendary rock group “Chicago”. CALLING ALL TALENT!

The Turlock Community Theatre is currently searching for ALL kinds of talent to light up their stage on Saturday, April 6th, 2019, for their 2nd Annual Turlock Community Theatre TAM-TAM Talent Show: A Live Talent Show Competition & Fundraiser.

 

All talents are welcome! This includes, but is not limited to: Singers, dancers, bands, acrobats, magicians, comedians, pets and their trainers, variety acts of all kinds, and anything else that you think will dazzle and delight the audience. We want to be entertained y’all, so BRING IT!

 

LIGHT UP THE STAGE!   We are looking for creativity at its finest, with the added twist of unexpected surprise and humor - ENTERTAIN THE PANTS OFF US! Whether it be a legitimate talent you have, or a stupid party trick you’ve been doing for years, or a comedic act that has people in stitches, or an avant-garde performance that’s edgy, or simply something that no one has ever seen before, the more unique the better. After all, it is the TCT TAM-TAM Talent Show!

How to Compete:

Read the rules and regulations, complete the application and return it to the Turlock Community Theatre by January 18, 2019.  There is no fee to apply. Auditions:

*In order to be a candidate for our LIVE COMPETITION SHOW, we will most definitely need to see your Act in all of its gusto and glory! You may show us your talent in the following way:

 

Option #1: You may submit a Recorded Video Demo of your performance using YouTube or a DVD. If you are using YouTube to submit, please provide the specific link to your video demo. Please make sure all members of your act are represented in the video, as well as any music, costumes, props, etc. that are part of your act. We want to see your performance in its entirety, as if you were performing on our stage for the LIVE COMPETITION SHOW, so include all elements of your act in your Video Demo!

 

Option #2: You may also choose to attend one of the Audition Demo Nights, scheduled on Thursday, January 24th, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM, and on Friday, January 25th, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM. At the audition demo nights, acts will be demoed in order of their arrival, and will be seen as time permits. Once again, when auditioning, please make sure all members of your act are present to perform, and include any music, costumes, props, etc. that are part of your act. We want to see your full act, with all of the bells and whistles, so come prepared! **PLEASE NOTE: All Acts Need to be Between 45 Seconds & 2-Minutes in Length.
